What is CLTS?
Children’s Long Term Support
Waiver Program (CLTS) provides
Medicaid funding for children
who have substantial limitations
in their daily activities and need
support to remain in their home
or community. Eligible children
include those with
developmental disabilities,
severe emotional disturbances,
and physical disabilities.
Funding can be used to support
a range of different services
based on an assessment of the
needs of the child and his or her
family. Some services include:
respite care, supportive home
care, adaptive aids, mentoring,
and training for families of
children with disabilities.
Daily Living Skills Training

Help for the child to build skills so they can do everyday activities by themselves.
Example: Personal hygiene, food preparation, money management
Respite Care

A short term break for your family when a trained worker provides care for the child. Respite care helps ease daily stress the family and caregivers.
Mentoring

Mentoring is help for the child to build skills so they can interact and play with friends and be active in their community.
Example: Peer interactions, job skill building
